After dropping its first two matches, the Oak Harbor High School volleyball team rebounded to win four straight and the bronze division at the SunDome Volleyball Festival last weekend in Yakima.
The festival featured 32 teams divided into eight four-team pools.
Oak Harbor lost its first two pool matches. Richland defeated the Wildcats 25-8, 25-14, and Chelan stopped Oak Harbor 25-13, 25-7.
Richland went on to win festival championship.
The Wildcats finished pool play with a 25-12, 25-23 win over East Valley of Spokane.
Playing in the bronze division for all third-place teams from pool play, Oak Harbor battled through a series of close matches to claim the top spot in the bracket.
The Wildcats started bracket play by squeezing by Selah 26-24, 22-25, 15-12.
They then beat Enumclaw 26-24, 25-19.
Oak Harbor wrapped up first in the bracket with a 25-14, 16-25, 15-7 win over University of Spokane.
“We started out slow, but ended pretty good,” coach Kerri Molitor said. “(It was a) good weekend overall.”
Oak Harbor (3-0) gets back to Wesco play when its hosts Lynnwood (1-1) at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18.
