Patricia Maren ”Pat” Lindemaier, aged 74, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Vancouver, Wash., Jan. 16, 2021, after a short battle with cancer.
Pat was born to the late Gerald and Frances Nelson in Mount Vernon, Wash. The family moved to Oak Harbor, Wash., where Pat graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1964. Pat received her bachelor’s in education from Central Washington University in 1978.
Pat married her high school sweetheart, Wayne Lalley, in 1964. At that time they moved from Oak Harbor to Ellensburg, Wash., and later to Selah, Wash.
In 1981, Pat met and married Werner Lindemaier. Pat and Werner very much enjoyed life in rural Battleground, Wash., and in Vancouver, Wash., where Pat spent her career as a special needs teacher and also worked with the YWCA and Clark County Juvenile Court System.
Pat’s passions included animals and music of any kind, especially when playing her beloved piano. In later life, she was able to indulge her love of nature, particularly birds, by frequenting local wildlife refuges and enjoying the beauty of the Columbia River and its surroundings. She also cherished annual travels with her special group of Oak Harbor school friends. Pat will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her gracious, gentle and kind spirit.
Pat is survived by her son Sean Lalley, of Vancouver, Wash.; niece Maren Nelson, of Florida; cousins Ray Bloom, of Anacortes, and Marcia Green, of Camano Island, Wash.; and sister-in-law Sheila Nelson, of Burlington, Wash.
Pat was predeceased by her loving husband, Werner Lindemaier in 2006, and brother Richard Nelson, of Burlington, Wash., in 2019.
It is suggested that any contributions be made to local Alzheimers or Humane Societies.
A “Celebration of life” will be held later this year in the Seattle area.
