Two people were injured in a car accident on the afternoon of Friday, Nov. 19 at the corner of Goldie Road and Highway 20.
Oak Harbor Fire Department Chief Ray Merrill said the accident occurred at about 12:10 p.m. when a car turned in front of a pickup truck. Two patients were transported to WhidbeyHealth Medical Center with minor injuries. Both of the injured patients were in the pickup truck, Merrill said, but the driver of the car was not injured. The chief said both vehicles were totaled.
Merrill said the highway was shut down for almost half an hour while the scene was cleaned up, with traffic diverted at Northeast Seventh Avenue.
“It was kind of a mess for a while, trying to get vehicles separated and moved,” he said.
