A sudden illness took Chris from us on 22 January, 2024. With him were his loving wife, Oxana, step-father, Dallas Viall, and dear friend, Chris Daniels.
A lifelong resident of Washington state, Chris was born in Bellingham, Washington on June 15, 1961, to William and Shirley Taylor, one of 6 children, and the youngest brother of four boys. The family moved to Seattle, and Chris would attend St. Joseph’s and Stevens Elementary schools, Hamilton Middle School and Lincoln High School, where he graduated in 1979. He went on to Shoreline CC.
Chris possessed an insatiable curiosity for life. He loved nature, having studied Geology and earth sciences in school. He loved the arts, music, literature, animals, and travel. He was an avid history buff, particularly of the cultures of England, Scotland and Ireland. He was also an excellent cook, as many will attest!
He had a big personality, projected confidence well, and would laugh at a joke on himself twice as hard as on anyone else.
But above all, he loved his family and his friends. Chris is survived by his loving wife, Oxana, his daughter Yana (Serhii) and son Yanis (Vita), his step-father, Dallas Viall, older brother, William (May), brother Geoffrey (Katherine), brother Thomas (Maya) and sister Mary (Thomas), and grandchildren, nieces, nephews and life-long friends. He is preceded in death by his oldest sister, Anne, his mother Shirley Viall and father, William Taylor.
Chris was a warm, kind, and very loving man, who will be long remembered and long missed by everyone who knew him. He held strong Christian beliefs and love for the Lord Jesus, Wherever he lived, he became an active and respected member of a local church.
A memorial service will be held at Grace By The Sea Anglican Church, 540 SE Pioneer Way, Oak Harbor WA at 1:30 pm on Saturday, February 3rd.
