Marilee was born on a farm in Iowa on March 23, 1929, to Gertrude and Levi Cottington. Her husband James died in 2021, just two months before their 50th wedding anniversary.

She became a teacher and taught in several states, Gua, and Puerto Rico. She was co-author of an award-winning book, “Levi’s Dream”.

She is survived by her three stepchildren, Janet, Carol Lee (Ed), James Jr.,(Cathy) and three grandchildren. Marilee will be greatly missed but as per her wishes there will be no service.
