Editor,
The Oct. 12 South Whidbey Record article about county commissioners candidates left me gobsmacked. Didn’t we have a primary? Write-in candidates are allowed to mount a last-minute campaign, no matter how futile. However, for the paper to publicize a long-shot candidate that has not been vetted and elevate them as an equal to the primary winners is astoundingly bad editorial judgement.
Lawn signs do not equate to legitimacy. Respect the electoral process if you want to participate as a legitimate voice of the region.
