Letter: Election was rejection of liberalism

Editor,

As a misogynist, racist, deplorable fascist voter, I should be gloating that Democrats got their comeuppance on Nov. 5, but that would be rubbing salt into the wound. What I will say instead is that it is time to be honest about why the American people rejected an ideology that cannot accept that there are opinions different than their own. Because I see a smaller government as a benefit, and you see it as a necessity does not make either of us wrong, or evil. It just means we need to find a compromise that we both can live with.

Joe Biden was a creature of Washington’s permanent establishment. Fifty years of throwing other people’s money at problems and rewarding favors to supporters without judging the results was his blind spot. He is not alone, and hopefully the realization that wishful thinking and promises do not put food on table for the working man, and only results matter. People get tired of being promised a better tomorrow and getting the shaft.

Kamala Harris was unable to vocalize any plan to be different than those of Biden. I asked a friend what specific policy she had that made him back her. He gave me a diatribe on how evil Trump was, but only could point to what “experts” said about her economic policy. She was unable to explain or answer anything about her policies, not enough to inspire confidence. Basically, hate Trump was her only policy.

The greatness of the founding fathers was that they understood that people were different. They feared both monarchs and unfettered democracy in government and struck upon giving us a republic. Where other democracies fail, ours has held strong for two centuries, and God willing will hold strong for centuries to come.
