Whidbey’s holiday markets are a fun opportunity to chat with Santa, connect with the island’s vibrant art scene and shop for unique gifts for family and friends. Expect lots of options, particularly this coming weekend.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 6-7, families can browse handmade arts and crafts, discover local authors and make ornaments at the Whidbey Holiday Market at the Bayview Community Hall, located at 5642 Bayview Road in Langley. People on the good list will get a chance to meet Santa, while his horned and demonic companion Krampus will have a talk with those who have misbehaved this year.
Community members up north can admire artwork displayed at the North Whidbey Middle School’s Holiday Bazaar, which takes place 4 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 6 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 7 at 67 Northeast Izett Street in Oak Harbor. The event will feature a food truck, a bake sale, raffles and gift wrapping service.
Can’t pick a gift? Try stocking stuffers — the Country Christmas at the Fairgrounds will have plenty. The market will include Santa, cookies, coffee, hot chocolate and activities for kids, taking place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 6, 7 and 8 at the Whidbey Island Fairgrounds, located at 819 Camano Avenue in Langley.
The Coupeville United Women in Faith are hosting a Christmas Bazaar from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 7 at 608 North Main Street in Coupeville. Visitors can find fresh wreaths, handmade crafts, baked goods, gently used collectibles and an opportunity to meet Santa. All proceeds will be donated to local charities.
Find jewelry, ceramics, woodwork, fiber art, paintings, bronze sculptures and colorful glass at Rob Schouten Gallery’s Fine Art in the Season of Light, an art show that runs through Dec. 31. From 5 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 7, community members are invited to the gallery’s Holiday Reception, which will also feature a video projection in the Sculpture Garden. The gallery is located at 101 Anthes Avenue in Langley.
The Center, located at 51 Southeast Jerome Street in Oak Harbor, is holding a Holiday Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Find unique gifts, handmade items and quality products.
The Clinton Holiday Market runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8 at the Clinton Community Hall, located at 6411 South Central Ave. Santa will make an appearance at 11 a.m. on both days and will take photos with families.
On Dec. 7, 13, 14 and 21, the Bayview Farmers Market is holding a special holiday market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Friday at 5642 Bayview Road. Get ready to browse unique local crafts, seasonal treats, and farm-fresh goodies — perfect for gifts or a little indulgence.
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 7 and 8, the Greenbank Farm’s Holiday Markets and Farm Lights is an opportunity to find wooden birdhouses, handmade jewelry and fragrances, quirky fidget toys, sweet treats, street food and more while sipping a free warm drink and admiring the festively decorated farm. The farm’s businesses will also keep their doors open, offering antiques, fine food, pet goodies and more. Children can meet Santa from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 to 4 p.m. on both days.
People from South Whidbey and beyond will get another chance to explore the festive fairgrounds at the Langley Holiday Market, finding art, food, drinks and festive music from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15.
Coupeville’s Holiday Art Show: Made Right on Whidbey will include photos of Whidbey’s landscapes, textiles, pottery, metal work, paintings, mixed media art and more. The event is planned for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15 at the Coupeville Recreation Hall, located at 901 Northwest Alexander St.
