“Coping with Deployments,” a free one-day class that addresses psychological help for military families before, during and after military deployment of a loved one will be offered by the Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross, Saturday, May 7, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cascade Professional Center, 160 Cascade Place, Suite 208, Burlington.
Burlington was chosen as the venue to accommodate military families throughout the northwest region, including Naval Air Station Whidbey Island
The course is aimed at spouses, children, parents, siblings and significant others, and is taught in a confidential environment.
The Red Cross encourages military members to attend with their families.
Sessions are divided into an adult module that provides useful information on how to successfully respond to a deployment and a children’s module that teaches adults how to support children as a result of family changes.
