WorkSource workshops offer job hunting tips

Anyone separating or retiring from the Navy and looking for employment may be interested in a couple of upcoming classes at WorkSource Whidbey in Oak Harbor.

A workshop scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. April 14 will focus on the Boeing Company’s application process. WorkSource staff will share resume tricks and tips to successfully apply.Boeing expects to hire 5,000 new employees in 2011 to fill its upcoming plane orders.

Another workshop set to take place at 9 a.m. April 26 will explain how to prepare for a job fair. Those attending will find out what to expect when attending, how to talk to employers and tips on how to “work” a job fair. The next WorkSource Whidbey job fair will be held at the Oak Harbor Elks Club from noon to 4 p.m. on May 5.

The workshops are free and are open to anyone. Those interested in attending are encouraged to pre-register by calling WorkSource Whidbey at 675-5966.
