They say time flies when you’re having fun, so it must be true, because already the Whidbey Crosswind is approaching the one-year mark.
It seems like only yesterday I started this journey. I was somewhat experienced in the ways of the newspaper world, but most definitely not in the ways of the Navy. What a journey it has been! Who knew there were so many acronyms? Learning to speak Navy is almost as complicated as learning a foreign language, but somehow my many years of high school and college French were no help.
I must say my heart swelled with pride when I was recently complimented for using the correct terminology. I guess it is possible to teach an old dog new tricks. Difficult, but possible.
At any rate, when we started this project we said there would be growing pains and indeed there have been. But with nearly 50 issues behind us, it’s time to reevaluate what’s working and what’s not.
Because we care very much that this paper is relevant to the needs of our readers, we are asking you to give us some feedback. Follow this link to complete the survey.
Please rank the features by putting them in order from top to bottom, the top being what you like the best, the bottom being your least favorite. Please respond by Thursday, March 1.
We have come a long way and we’ve received a lot of positive feedback. We’d like to keep our momentum going and continue to make Whidbey Crosswind a useful tool for members of our community. Don’t sit this one out — we need to hear from you. Please share your opinion and tell us what you’d like to continue to see in the pages of the Crosswind.
