Forecasted ice around the region has prompted officials at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island to open under reduced operations Thursday.

Only key and essential personnel are to report for duty. Anyone with questions as to whether they should report is asked to contact their individual Commands.

The Chiefs’ exam will still take place at 1 p.m. All Fleet and Family Readiness facilities are closed. For those in need of childcare, especially those taking the CPO exam, can call the Emergency Childcare Line at 914-7432.

Those with routine appointments at Naval Hospital Oak Harbor are asked to call and reschedule.

Charles Porter gate only is open on the Ault Field Base.
