Second half rally falls short
The Coupeville High School boys basketball team ended regular season play in the Cascade Conference losing a 49-45 decision at Lakewood Friday evening.
The Cougars had a big first half against the Wolves holding a 33-20 halftime advantage.
In the third quarter, Coupeville’s defense stepped up and held Lakewood to just two points and shaved the lead to 35-28 heading into the final eight minutes of the game.
In the final quarter, the Wolves outscored the Cougars 17-14, but it wasn’t enough to pull the victory out.
J.D. Wilcox had a good night for the Wolf Pack, scoring a game-high 14 points. Teammate Cody Peters tallied nine points and Zepher Loesch had eight.
The Wolves finished the season 7-7 in league games and 10-10 overall.
