Shorecrest moved within a half-game of first-place Lynnwood by defeating the visiting Oak Harbor girls basketball team 47-32 Monday, Jan. 31.

The Wildcats, according to coach Trisha Clayville, “didn’t get many shots” as it struggled to score against the Scots.

Oak Harbor scored in single digits each of the first three quarters, then tacked on 14 points in the fourth.

Clayville said, “We figured it out at the end, but it was too late to get back into the game.”

Shorecrest (10-2, 11-7) led 13-7, 27-10 and 37-18 at the quarter breaks.

Emilie Renninger broke out of recent scoring slump to lead Oak Harbor with eight points. Janelle Yoshimoto scored six, Annie Leete five, and Ciera Wiser five, and the Wildcats got two each from Jalanie Bobo, Clarissa Abadesco, Tatiana Cumming and Dominique Jackson.

The Wildcats (1-12, 2-17) close out the season at home with Glacier Peak (7-5, 10-8) Wednesday, Feb. 2, at 7:30 p.m.
