Comment about the 9/11 disaster and the Unbelievable Adventure Lady (my wife).

The Unbelievable Adventure Lady and I were scheduled with reservations to be in the World Trade Center Marriott Hotel when the disaster struck. The Marriott Hotel was built between the two WTC towers and of course was totally destroyed.

We were living in Denver and had planned on taking a cruise out of New York Harbor that went up into Canada along the St. Lawrence River. We  had planned to stay a day or two in New York before leaving.

I was stationed back there in my old Navy days and we wanted to see what was new.

Business problems held us up for two days so we weren’t there on 9/11. We saw the disaster unfold on TV. Unbelievable especially considering that we were supposed to be there.

The cruise departure was consequently changed from New York to Baltimore. It was a fairly somber group of tourists that got on board in Baltimore.

We received an email from the Marriott people later telling us that our reservations had been canceled. I think I still have that form.
