Oct. 22 was the first “Oak Harbor Make a Difference Day.” A food drive for North Whidbey Help House was a success with over one thousand items donated! Jean Weiman, executive director of Help House, told me that “we get three to four new people each day asking for food.” Thanks to the generosity of our community, Help House will be able to continue to fill these requests.
Heartfelt thanks for contributions from Hillcrest Elementary School, the city of Oak Harbor, Family Care Physical Therapy, Island Drug, Edward Jones, Gene Barner, Harbor Pride, the Senior Center and the many other businesses who made anonymous donations in support of “Make a Difference Day in Oak Harbor.”
