The Oak Harbor fastpitch team jumped to an early lead, but Glacier Peak recovered to defeat the Wildcats 10-3 at Hillcrest Elementary Friday, April 13.

Shawna Steele’s two-run double in the first inning gave the Wildcats a 2-0 lead, then the Grizzlies mixed several hits with Oak Harbor errors to push across six runs in the third inning.

Glacier Peak (5-2, 7-3) added a pair of runs in each of the next two innings to secure the Wesco win.

The Wildcats committed seven errors and four mental mistakes, according to coach Jess Weikle, and the offense generated only three hits to make life easier for the Grizzlies.

Morgan Young and Marissa Fakkema collected the other OHHS hits.

Oak Harbor (1-6, 3-8) hosts Lynnwood (5-2, 6-3) at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, and then goes to Everett (6-0, 10-0) Tuesday, April 24.
