Island County decision makers will discuss a $2.6 million law and justice tax levy proposal Monday and are seeking public comment.
Island County Board of Commissioners recently agreed to hold a series of community meetings on the Island County Law and Justice Council’s resolution to seek voter approval on the November ballot.
The idea was to get public feedback on the proposal before the board makes a decision.
Three meetings were planned for Whidbey and Camano islands, but the issue has also be added to the board’s Monday agenda. It’s the commissioner’s only evening meeting of the month.
Island County Sheriff Mark Brown will be in attendance and is prepared to answer question from the public.
Other meetings are scheduled for 7 p.m., Thursday, June 27, at Fire Station No. 25, 2720 S.W. Heller Road on North Whidbey; 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, at the Camano Senior Community Center, 606 Arrowhead Road; and 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 10, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 18341 State Highway 525.
