Oak Harbor man finishes Army training

Army Pvt. Johnathon S. Sardega has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

Army Pvt. Johnathon S. Sardega has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

Sardega is the son of Bryan and Shellie Sardegna of Oak Harbor.

During the nine-week training, Sardega studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values; participated in physical fitness; and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed, unarmed combat and more.

Sardega is a 2010 graduate of Oak Harbor High School.
