Oak Harbor runners won three of the four races at a four-team middle school cross country meet at Windjammer Park Thursday, Oct. 20.
The Oak Harbor team, which combines runners from both Oak Harbor and North Whidbey middle schools, received first-place efforts from Kaitlyn Chelberg (seventh-grade girls, 10:50), Mariel Empinado (eighth-grade girls, 10:23) and Logan Clark (eighth-grade boys, 9:44) over the 1.5-mile course.
Burlington-Edison and the two Mount Vernon middle schools (LaVenture and Mount Baker) joined Oak Harbor at the meet.
