Local elected officials will hold a public meeting this evening to gather input from the public about the U.S. Navy’s Outlying Field.
Located just south of Coupeville, the airstrip is used for touch-and-go maneuvers by pilots training to land on aircraft carriers. Jet noise has been a concern for years but complaints have spiked over the past year.
The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 19 at the Coupeville Recreation Hall, 901 N.W. Alexander St.
