A constant offensive assaulted helped the Coupeville fastpitch team bombard Archbishop Murphy 18-6 in five innings in Everett Wednesday, May 2.
Co-coach David King said the coaching staff has been preaching consistency on offense all year and the Wolves reached that goal by scoring in every inning, including nine runs in the fourth against the Wildcats (5-11).
The Wolves jumped out early with three first-inning runs, two off of Bessie Walstad’s triple.
Hailey Hammer got things going in the fourth with a home run, and Walstad finished it off with her second hit of the inning.
Ali Trumbull pitched a complete game for the win.
Walstad led the 17-hit attack with four hits and four RBI.
Hammer ended with three hits and five RBI, and Trumbull had a single and double. Chevy Reyes, McKayla Bailey and Madeline Roberts each had two hits, and Bree Messner and Madeline Strasburg each rapped singles.
Coupeville (5-8, 6-9) hosts Lakewood (9-3, 10-3) at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 3, and Granite Falls (10-1) in a 3 p.m. double header Friday before traveling to Sultan (1-12) next Tuesday.
