Three Wildcats rapped three hits each and Danny Wolfe tossed a four hitter in Oak Harbor’s 6-2 baseball win at Everett Monday, April 28.

Brent Mertins was 3-for-3 with two doubles, two runs and two RBI; Brandon Bailey went 3-for-3 with two runs and three RBI; and Tyler Snavely finished 3-for-4 to lead the Oak Harbor offense.

Wolfe, who went six and two-thirds innings, recorded five strikeouts and two walks to help the Wildcats sweep the Seagulls (1-11, 1-14).

Oak Harbor scored in the first inning when Bailey drove in Kevin Johnson, who had walked.

With the score tied at 1, Oak Harbor scored three runs in the fifth. Johnson led with a single, Mertins doubled and Bailey singled in two runs. C.J. Meders singled in Bailey.

The Wildcats tacked on two more runs in the seventh behind Mertin’s double and singles by Bailey and Wolfe.

Oak Harbor (5-9, 5-12) is tied with Marysville Getchell (5-7, 7-8) and Mountlake Terrace (5-7, 6-9) in the win column for the final two playoff spots.

Oak Harbor’s final three games are against the top three teams in the Wesco South. Getchell and Terrace primarily face teams below them in the standings.
