The Oak Harbor High School Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps competitive teams dominated the competition in the season opening meet in Arlington Saturday, Dec. 15.
Oak Harbor teams claiming firsts were Color Guard 1, Armed Drill, Rifle Team 2 and Physical Strength 1.
The Unarmed Drill Team and Rifle Team 1 picked up seconds, Color Guard 2 was third and Physical Strength 2 fourth.
In individual competition, Devin Peterson earned firsts in Armed Drill Commander and Individual Armed Exhibition, and Tricia Desquitado was first in Ironwoman.
David Kusnick, Cedric Cabigting and Mat Sypert went 2-3-5 in Ironman, while Therese Desquitado was fifth in Unarmed Drill Commander, Earl Soliman sixth in Unarmed Drill Down and Rebecca Holloman sixth in Ironwoman.
The Wildcats snagged six of the top eight spots in individual shooting with Jason Salas winning. He was followed by Darlene Salcedo, second; Cabigting, fourth; Christian Diga, fifth; Jarius Davis, seventh; and Jake Nelson, eighth.
Nine schools from Oak Harbor to Tacoma compete in the Olympic Division, and the top four will advance to the regional meet in March.
The Wildcat Battalion drill teams go to Snohomish Saturday, Jan. 12.
