Editor,
Initiative Measure 1401 is up for a vote Nov. 3. For those who don’t know, it concerns trafficking of animal species threatened with extinction. This measure would make selling, purchasing, trading or distributing certain animal species threatened with extinction, and products containing such species, a gross misdemeanor or class-C felony with exemptions for certain types of transfers. If voted yes it would be enacted into law.
Whatever your feelings may be toward animals one must ask himself or herself, “Where does that leave human life?”
If we, as a nation, are going to continue killing babies, “abortion,” because that’s what it is, how is it that we regard animals above human life?
Measure 1401 is concerned about the extinction of certain animals. What about the extinction of human life? How long will we survive as a nation, if we continue to kill the least and most vulnerable among us, the unborn?
