Two Oak Harbor High School swimmers took advantage of the Last Chance Invitational at Marysville-Pilchuck High School Thursday, Oct. 30, to record district qualifying times.
The meet, basically a junior varsity championship, offered Wesco swimmers a final opportunity to qualify for the district meet, which is set for Nov. 6, 8 and 9 at the Snohomish Aquatic Center.
Wildcat junior Sophie Dickinson and freshman Baelee Whitinger each earned district times.
Dickinson, who qualified for the 500-yard freestyle earlier this season, added the 200 free to her list, finishing first in 2:23.82.
Whitinger clipped five seconds off her previous best in the 100 backstroke with a 1:12.82, good for first.
Elise Still was a double winner (200 individual medley, 2:50.17; 100 breaststroke, 1:23.55), and Michelle Robinson won the 100 free (1:03.53).
Five of the six Wesco 3A North teams (Arlington doesn’t field a swimming team) and 4A Lake Stevens, Mount Vernon and Monroe competed in the Last Chance meet.
Lake Stevens rolled up the most points, 405. Oak Harbor was third at 336.
