Flexing its muscles, the Coupeville High School tennis team defeated visiting Sequim 6-1 Monday, May 2, in a non-league match.

Flexing its muscles, the Coupeville High School tennis team defeated visiting Sequim 6-1 Monday, May 2, in a non-league match.

Sequim, a 2A school, came into the match with a 9-5 record; Coupeville upped its season mark to 9-3.

The Wolves (4-0, 9-3) will shoot for an undefeated conference season when they host Chimacum (1-4, 3-9) in the final regular season match at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 4.

Since Coupeville has the Olympic League title wrapped up, its postponed match with Klahowya will not be made up.

The Olympic League 1A tournament is set for Tuesday, May 10, in Chimacum, according to coach Ken Stange.

Singles: 1, Valen Trujillo won 6-2, 6-2; 2, Sydney Autio won 6-1, 6-1; 3, Bree Daigneault lost 6-2, 6-1.

Doubles: 1, Sage Renninger/Payton Aparicio won 6-3, 6-1; 2, McKenzie Bailey/Jazmine Franklin won 6-2, 6-0; 3, Maggie Crimmin/Kamryn St. Onge won 8-5; 4, Julianne Sem/Julia Borges won 6-1, 3-2.

Kenzi LaRue won an exhibition match 6-0.
