A 43-year-old Oak Harbor man is facing felony charges for allegedly threatening his mother and two others with a samurai sword, court documents show.

Prosecutors charged Ricardo Piloneo in Island County Superior Court May 8 with three counts of harassment, threats to kill.

Piloneo is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond. He could face up to a year in jail if convicted of the charges.

According to the police report, Piloneo was living without permission at a home on Northwest Dory Street that’s owned by his mother.

In the afternoon of May 6, the woman brought over a couple of workers to clean up the trash around the house.

Piloneo leaned out the bedroom window with a sword and screamed that he was going to kill them, according to the report by Oak Harbor Police Officer Jennifer Gravel.

He threatened to “cut up” his mother, the officer wrote.

Officers who responded to the incident found Piloneo hiding behind a neighbor’s van.

He admitted that he became angry with the workers because they had made noise and woke him, the report states.
