Our island is full of sharing and caring people, and IDIPIC and the Oak Harbor Elks were shown that with the wonderful support given our new community event Oct. 16: OkSOBERfest.
It was gratifying to see over 200 people from throughout the island,
including about 70 teens, come out to enjoy this unique community
experience.
The food, fun and festivities would not have been possible without the support of over 100 businesses and organizations and many others, who gave either time, talent, sponsorship, food, and/or silent auction items/baskets. They included:

Hope we didn’t miss anyone!
Over 60 event surveys were completed with Ernie Branigh of Oak Harbor winning two movie passes.
And the fellow who came dressed right down to his lederhosen and polka’d about? You’ll be happy to know we’ll have a Best Dressed contest when OkSOBERfest returns even bigger and better Oct. 9, 2009!
On behalf of IDIPIC and the Oak Harbor Elks — but most importantly, the
many students the proceeds will benefit through IDIPIC safety programs in our schools and communities — we thank you all for your unwavering support.
As the old African proverb says: It takes a village to raise a child, and you all are terrific Partners in Prevention! Danke shoen!
