The Coupeville volleyball team set up a battle for third place in the Cascade Conference against Island rivals South Whidbey by sweeping away Cedarcrest 3-0 in Coupeville Tuesday night.
The Wolves and Falcons are both 4-2 in league play and meet Thursday in Coupeville at 7 p.m. The two teams trail King’s and Archbishop Murphy, who are both undefeated and meet Thursday as well in scrap for first place.
Against Cedarcrest, the Wolves won 25-28, 25-12, 25-12.
Coupeville coach Toni Crebbin said that her team was constantly solid throughout the match and didn’t drop to the level of its competition.
She said, “We kept our momentum.”
Jessica Blanchette had six kills and three stuff blocks, Michelle Riddle added seven kills, and Julie Swankie collected 15 assists and four aces to pace Coupeville’s attack.
