A strong front nine helped the Oak Harbor High School boys golf team finish second in a four-team match Tuesday, April 8, at the Whidbey Golf Club.

Shorewood won the match, posting a 426, 12 strokes better than the Wildcats. Everett finished with a 479, and Shorecrest scored a 492.

Although the Scots finished last in the team race, they produced the best individual score: Trent Jones, 79.

Mac Kerfoot topped Oak Harbor with an 82. Hunter Adams carded an 86, Steven Timm 88, Mason Dieter 90 and Raiden Poe 92.

Coach David Smith said the Wildcats were solid on the front side, but as the weather worsened, so did their scores.

The same four teams meet at Jackson Park, hosted by Shorewood, at 2:45 p.m. Thursday, April 10.
