Former Oak Harbor resident Emily Nienhuis is serving as an ambassador for the 2015–16 school year at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa.

Nienhuis is a senior majoring in chemistry. She is the daughter of Wendy Nienhuis, of Oak Harbor.

Ambassadors serve as leaders in welcoming prospective students and their parents to campus.

Responsibilities of ambassadors include making phone calls to potential students, hosting students during college visits and giving campus tours.

Ambassadors are selected based on their leadership ability, character and academic performance.

Northwestern College is a Christian college of more than 1,200 students.
