The Oak Harbor Sports Report offers two $500 scholarships to student-athletes each year.
Candidates must have at least a 3.0 GPA and have participated in at least two sports each year for all four years of high school. Exceptions may be made for students who moved into the area during high school.
Also, candidates must not be receiving any financial assistance from any college for athletics.
Candidates are required to complete a 500-word, one-page essay, “How Sports Made Me a Better Person.”
The top five that best meet the criteria will be selected for a personal interview, with the top two awarded the scholarship at the annual Senior Awards Night in June.
The scholarship is funded by photo sales from WescoAthletics.com and the Oak Harbor Sports Report.
See Carla Hurst in the Oak Harbor High School Counseling Center for applications and more information.
