A Clinton man is accused of purposely slamming his car into a pedestrian and driving off, court documents state.

Prosecutors charged Christopher L. Locken, 31, with second-degree assault with a deadly weapon and hit and run.

A man and woman were walking on Lone Lake Road on the night of Dec. 6 when the incident occurred.

The couple said they saw a blue Mitsubishi Diamante headed toward them and that the car swerved off the paved portion of the road and toward them. The man shoved his wife and was struck by the car.

The man said he hit the hood, rolled over and fell onto his back.

The alleged victim claimed that Locken was driving the car and “had a crazed look on his face,” according to the deputy’s report.

Locken then drove off, the report indicates.

The man said he and his wife have had a continuing problem with Locken threatening them. The man denied needing medical treatment but said his right side was sore.

Locken denied doing anything and claimed he had been sleeping at the time of the incident, the report states.
