I just wanted to let everyone in Oak Harbor know about a treasure I have discovered and have grown to love and cherish. This treasure is a person who has taken care of countless people in Oak Harbor. This treasure has fed many who have been hungry, has counseled many in need, has loved and scolded many with a strong Christian hand.

From the book, “She Said Yes,” I quote:

“Only during the few years of this life are we given the privilege of serving each other and Christ. We shall have heaven forever, but only a short time for service here, and therefore, must not waste the opportunity.”

This treasure lives that philosophy daily. She has never wasted an opportunity to serve others.

Through my husband’s chiropractic office, we have seen people not only in physical pain, but in spiritual pain, and we’ve never hesitated to send them to this treasure for counsel and love. This treasure opens her heart regardless of where people worship, whether or not they are believers, whether they are black or white, rich or poor.

This treasure’s open door policy is truly an open door. When someone is needed, this treasure is available. There is no need to set an appointment or have your calls screened. This treasure does not waste an opportunity to feed, love, counsel or scold, all in the name of Jesus.

I hope by now you are wondering who this treasure is. Her name is Pastor Fannie Dean. She is truly the most inspiring woman of God I’ve ever met. I am honored every day by her love and friendship.

The reason I am writing now is because she is the one in need. Pastor Dean is the lead pastor of Mission Ministries Outreach in Oak Harbor. Through her undying faith in God and through her belief that He has directed her to do so, she is undertaking a monumental task. The small, but very dedicated congregation of Mission Ministries Outreach is building a House for God, a place where all are welcome, where all will be loved and cared for in the name of Jesus.

In order to do this, there are many financial hurdles to overcome, so on their behalf and because I know that this ministry will continue to touch and serve many, I am humbly asking for your help. I am asking for monetary donations, whether it be $1 or $10, to be sent to Mission Ministries Outreach, Church Building Fund, 1751 Goldie Street, A #A-2, Oak Harbor, WA 98277.

In addition, there are beautiful lavender scented eye pillows that are gift wrapped for Christmas available for sale at Schiffman Chiropractic, 31780 SR 20, Suite 2 in Oak Harbor. One hundred percent of he proceeds will go directly to the church building fund.
