First-place Archbishop Thomas Murphy remained perfect in Cascade Conference girls basketball by defeating Coupeville 61-28 Friday on the Wolves’ court.

The Wildcats (10-0, 14-2) showed why they are considered one of the state’s top teams by limiting the Wolves to single digit scoring in each of the first three quarters.

ATM moved out to a 14-6 lead in the first quarter and then piled on to the lead by going up 37-14 at halftime. By the end of the third quarter it was 51-18 as 14 different Wildcats played in the game and 12 scored. Beth Carlson, 15 points, and Nickole Bartholomew, 14, topped Murphy in the scorebook.

Megan Smith recorded 10 points and seven steals for Coupeville. Kendra O’Keefe scored six points, while Cassidi Rosenkrance and Ashley Manker had five each and Katie Smith two.

The Wolves (5-7, 10-8) play their final regular season home game Tuesday, Feb. 9, against Sultan (8-2, 11-5) at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, they travel to Lakewood (0-10, 0-16).
