Carson McKole, a 2009 Oak Harbor graduate, earned first-team, all-league honors for the Central Washington University women’s soccer team this fall.

McKole, a junior, is only the fourth CWU player to earn first-team honors.

She was also chosen for the all-academic Great Northwest Athletic Conference team for the second consecutive year and was selected GNAC Player of the Week twice this season.

She led Central with nine goals and four game-winning goals season. McKole also topped the team in shots (65) and shots on goal (29), more than double the second highest-efforts.

She finished with three assists, second best on the team.

McKole was fourth in the Great Pacific Athletic Conference in goals and third in shots.

The Wildcats finished the year with a 9-5-4 record and placed fourth in the GNAC with an 8-4-2 mark, the most wins for CWU since joining the league in 2001.

Coach Michael Farrand said, “Carson has been a fabulous student-athlete for us. Last year we played most of the year without her due to injury. This year she has been the most dangerous forward in our conference and one of the top players in the region.”

He added, “Carson is a tremendous competitor. Her pace and willingness to play at 100 percent makes her one of the best forwards Central has ever had.”
