Senior Resego Mooki earned medalist honors and helped the Oak Harbor High School girls golf team finish second in the Wesco North Tournament Thursday, May 12, at the Camaloch Golf Course on Camano Island.
Mooki, who finished second in the tournament in 2015, fired a 20-over 92 to lead the field of 36.
Arlington captured the team title with 515 strokes. Oak Harbor was next with 532, followed by Marysville-Pilchuck (537), Maryville Getchell (554), Everett (613) and Stanwood (no team score).
Oak Harbor’s Hannah Taylor placed ninth in individual scoring with a 102. Suzanne Kaltenbach shot 109, Terra Baird 110, Beth Paul 119 and Jessica Monaghan 121.
In addition to winning the tournament, Arlington won the divisional title, which is based upon league points tallied during the course of the season. The Eagles collected 16, while Oak Harbor won a close battle for second with 13, edging M-P (12) and Getchell (11). Everett finished with eight points and Stanwood six.
Mooki finished sixth in individual league points with 77 although she missed one match; a golfer can earn as many as 12 points per contest. Arlington’s Emmi Modahl took the title with 89.
Taylor was 12th (66), Baird 13th (64), Monaghan 16th (61), Kaltenbach 20th (50) and Paul 25th (37).
Taylor and Paul, like Mooki, each missed one league match.
By finishing among the top 25, all of the Oak Harbor golfers qualified for next week’s district tournament set for May 17 and 18 at Stanwood’s Kayak Point Golf Course.
