A 37-year-old Oak Harbor man is accused of choking and hitting his girlfriend, possibly breaking her arm, court documents state.
Prosecutors charged Albert Hull III in Island County Superior Court Dec. 5 with assault in the second degree, assault in the fourth degree and violation of a court order. The assault charges were filed as domestic-violence related counts.
Oak Harbor Police Officer Jennifer Gravel responded to a 911 report of a domestic assault at an apartment on Crosby Avenue Dec. 1.
The woman reported that Hull had dragged her off the bed, punched her multiple times and choked her.
The officer wrote that the woman had petechia in an eye, which is a sign of strangulation, and red marks all over her body.
The woman thought her arm was broken.
She was taken to the hospital, but the report doesn’t say whether doctors found a fracture.
Hull said he had shoved his girlfriend after she shoved him, but that was the extent of the fight, according to the report.
