Reverse the con job by Coupeville

The Seattle Times Sunday, Dec. 26, has given Coupeville another award for renaming the Keystone Ferry Terminal after their town which is not flattering.

The Ferry Advisory Committee for Keystone had advised our politicians that to celebrate the advent of our new ferry, Coupeville was not the appropriate name. Whidbey Island would be the correct name for the destination to celebrate a new era in island transportation. Also, by Google map, it is eight miles from Keystone Harbor to Coupeville. If you are a walk-on from Port Townsend, then Island Transit will take you to Coupeville, but it’s another hour and 2 minutes.

Coupeville is on the complete opposite side of Whidbey Island. Were we conned by Coupeville? Yes! Can we still make it right? Yes! But will the politicians do it?
