Here's what's happening at Whidbey Island galleries and theaters.

“One of a Kind,” a display of the artworks of twins Janesah and Janeah Goheen, who were killed in a car crash in October 2013, will be on display at the GARRY OAK GALLERY throughout October. The twins’ mother, Debbie Goheen, will not sell the original works but is offering reproduction art prints. The gallery will not take any commissions on the sale of these prints; 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Goheen Memorial Fund.

Water media artist Tina Christiansen exhibits brilliant silk scarves at OAK HARBOR LIBRARY in October. Watercolors by Camille Brighten continue to be on display. The library is located at 1000 SE Regatta Dr. Call 675-5115.

ROB SCHOUTEN GALLERY presents “Silk, Sumi and Ceramics,” new work by Angie Dixon, Joan Govedare, Dan Ishler and Keiichi Nishimura. The show will run through Nov. 2. Accomplished sumi painter Angie Dixon is widely known for using the traditional expression of Asian brush and ink painting, while using her own perspective and interpretation. Gifted ceramicist Joan Govedare will be displaying her new series of raku-fired and hand-painted spirit rattles. Dan Ishler will be showing a distinctly different type of raku pottery. The silk reference in the title of this exhibition, is the purview of mixed-media painter Keiichi Nishimura, who is known for his exquisite mixed media paintings on stretched silk. M. Denis Hill is the featured artist for October at PENN COVE GALLERY. Hill, an award-winning photographer, specializes in landscapes and structures, particularly those of Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve and the Pacific Northwest. coast. Visit whidbeypanoramas.com to see his work.

RAINY LINDELL will have her oil paintings at Christopher’s Restaurant in Coupeville throughout November and December. Her landscapes capture the ever-changing colors of the area, from the glow of the sunsets over the Olympics to the contrast of the autumn leaves along the island shoreline. The WHIDBEY PLAYHOUSE will present “The Lion in Winter” opening Nov. 6. Stan Thomas is directing this 1968 Academy Award-winning historical drama about King Henry II’s Queen Eleanor, who having been exiled to a faraway castle years prior, is “invited” to join Henry and their sons for the holidays. Also invited is Henry’s mistress and her brother. Watch Henry try to balance one against the other in an attempt to ensure that the kingdom he built will survive his death.
