Shoppers will enjoy perusing a selection of handmade crafts and vintage items when they shop Sundays at the Greenbank Farm.

Farm leaders recently added a flea market that is being held 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Sunday through September.

“We were looking for ways to invigorate the market,” Greenbank Farm Manager Judy Feldman said.

The flea market has a handful of vendors who sell things such as sculptures out of driftwood, cedar furniture, fishing equipment, fish pavers and an antique Wonder Pony.

Feldman said sellers wishing to participate in the flea market don’t have to pay a booth fee; however, they will have to pay a 10 percent fee if they sell anything.

She said the idea for the flea market came from a desire of tenants to generate interest at the farm.

Greenbank’s Sunday market has had several incarnations in recent years. It had been a farmers market, but that slowed after markets in Coupeville and Bayview, both of which take place a day earlier, became successful. Greenbank’s Sunday market has become slower, Feldman said.

Last year, the farm organized a local craft market before switching to the flea market this year.
