A strong pitching performance by Grant Schroeder wasn’t enough as the Oak Harbor baseball team lost 2-0 at Shorewood Friday, April 6.

Schroeder combined with Zach Zimmer, who entered in the sixth, to toss a four-hitter, but the Wildcats countered with only three hits off Thunderbird pitchers Ian Oxnivad and Sam Boone.

A two-out single in the sixth broke the scoreless tie.

Coach Tyson VanDam said, “Grant threw a great game but we came up short.”

Oak Harbor (1-6, 3-7) and Shorewood (1-4, 2-6) meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, in Oak Harbor. The Wildcats also host Everett (4-3, 4-5) at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
