Four members of Acorn Theta Rho Club of Oak Harbor attended International Youth Days, sponsored by the Independent Order of Odd Fellow, recently in Victoria, British Columbia.

Theta Rho is a fraternal organization of girls ages 8 to 18 with an emphasis on community service.

Attending were Olivia Thrailkill, currently serving as the state president, Cassie Flitcroft, Allison Stewart and Lucy Crouch. The girls were accompanied by advisor Judy Diekman and assistant advisor Mary Stewart.

The club received the International Award for community service, the award for designing the pin used for the convention and first place for their skit at the Youth Talent Show.

The girls met with members from other states to share ideas about activities. They also toured the Royal Museum and learned about the history of British Columbia.

The club said Oak Harbor Soroptimists awarded a grant to help with their trip expenses.
