Receiving offensive help from throughout the lineup, the North Whidbey Little League 11/12 baseball team clubbed Anacortes 11-1 in four innings Monday, June 30, in the District 11 tournament in Langley.
The win in the consolation bracket earned North Whidbey another shot at Sedro-Woolley at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, in a loser-out game. Sedro-Woolley defeated NWLL 10-4 in the tournament opener Saturday.
Sedro-Woolley later lost 2-1 to Central Whidbey.
In North Whidbey’s win over Anacortes, it slugged four extra-base hits, including a home run by Trevor Sheils.
Cody Byers ripped a triple, and Aiden McCarthy and Austin Boesch added doubles.
Sheils also picked up the pitching win, striking five in two-and-a-half innings. Andrew Dixon finished, fanning two.
