Softball

The Oak Harbor High School softball players will host their fourth annual softball clinic for all Whidbey Island girls ages 7 to 14 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 18, at Hillcrest Elementary School.

The $15 fee includes a softball T-shirt.

The clinic will focus on throwing, hitting, pitching, catching and fielding mechanics.

Boys basketball

The Oak Harbor Basketball Club has opened registration for a boys basketball camp set for 9 a.m. to noon June 25 through 27 at Oak Harbor High School.

The camp is open to boys of all skill levels who will enter the third through the eighth grades next fall. Space is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

The fee is $40 if registered before June 1; $45 after.

Registrations can be picked up at both 7/Eleven stores, Big 5 and Island Pet Center.

Tennis

The Summer Tennis Camp will provide individual and group lessons, a youth tennis camp and an adult tennis camp from June 25 to July 27 at the Oak Harbor High School courts this summer.

The youth camp is open to grades 3 and above and will offer six classes Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Beginners will be scheduled for morning classes with intermediate and advanced students scheduled for the afternoon.

The one-hour classes will begin at 9:15, 10:30 and 11:45 a.m. and 1:15, 2:15 and 3:30 p.m.

Participants will need a tennis racket and tennis shoes.

The fee is $45 or $75 for family of two and $100 for family of three. For families over three, add $20 per person.

The adult camp runs from June 26 to July 26 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Beginning to intermediate students will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. and intermediates to advanced from 7 to 8 p.m.

The fee is $45.

The hourly fees for lessons per person are as follows: $25 for an individual; $13 for a group of two; $9 for a group of three; and $7 for a group of four (maximum).

Applications are posted at the main entrance to the OHHS tennis courts and at the middle and high school administration offices.

Sailing

Spots in this summer’s youth sailing program are still available.

A youth (ages 9 to 15) beginners class is set for 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 23 to 27 and an intermediate class (for those who have completed the beginners class) July 30 to Aug. 3.

Registration forms can be found at www.ohyouthsailing.org and mailed to Oak Harbor Youth Sailing, P.O. Box 2876, Oak Harbor, WA 98277. Registration is on a first come, first served basis with completed registration forms and class fees paid.

The class fee is $150 and includes a book. Please note the cancellation policy on the registration form.
