Island Eye Care in Freeland is offering cataract surgery that it said cuts or eliminates the need for costly post-surgery eyedrops.
Time-released medication deposited at the back of the eye during surgery provides convenience and cost savings for patients, while alleviating compliance concerns for the physician.
Post-op eye drops must usually be self-administered on a strict schedule, and they can cost hundreds of dollars, the practice said.
Cataract surgery is the most common procedure in the United States, with more than three million surgeries performed annually.
