Concordia gets ready for Easter

Concordia Lutheran Church (Lutheran Church Missouri Synod) 590 N. Oak Harbor Road, Oak Harbor, hosts its Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 23, at 11 a.m. Bring the kids, toddlers through pre-teens.

Lenten Worship services continue on Wednesday, April 13 and 20, at 6:30 p.m., preceded by Soup Supper, served from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Holy Week, April 17 to 23, worship includes: Palm Sunday Service, at 10 a.m., Maundy Thursday Service, Good Friday Tenebrae Service, both at 6:30 p.m., and Easter Saturday Vigil, at 8 p.m. Easter Sunday Celebration, April 24, begins with Easter Breakfast from 8:30 to 10 a.m., followed by Easter worship at 10 a.m.

Easter in Coupeville

The Coupeville United Methodist Church invites the community to services throughout the Easter season. The church choir will perform a cantata for the Palm Sunday service on April 17. On April 21 a traditional Holy Thursday service will be held at 7 p.m., featuring a encore of the cantata by the popular choir. Sunrise service will be held at the beautiful Sunnyside Cemetery overlooking Ebey’s Prairie and Puget Sound at 7:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 24, followed by a complimentary breakfast. ‘Two Faces in the Shadows’

Oak Harbor First United Methodist Church, 1050 SE Ireland St, will hold a special Good Friday service presentation of “Two Faces in the Shadows” on Friday, April 22, at 7:30 p.m.  Pair o’ ‘Postles (Mark Adolph as Simon Peter, and Leonard Kannapell as Judas Iscariot)  discuss the events of the Passion in a dramatic dialogue between Simon Peter and Judas Iscariot. How to live in abundance

“Living in Abundance,” is the title of a presentation set for Tuesday, April 26, at 7 p.m. at Skagit Valley College Hayes Hall, Room 137, Oak Harbor. Childcare will be provided free.

Evan Mehlenbacher, a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship, will teach about spiritual abundance and its benefits. “Come and explore how true abundance starts not with a larger pay check, but with spiritual mindedness,” he said.
