“Close, but not reward” is how Oak Harbor girls’ soccer coach Jeff Laiblin described the Wildcats 1-0 loss to Cascade at Everett Memorial Stadium Tuesday.
The Bruins picked up the game’s only goal on a free kick at the 32 minute mark.
Laiblin said, “We out played Cascade for most of the match.” He added, “We led in all statistical categories except the one that counted the most, goals scored.”
Oak Harbor played great defense, according to Laiblin, but came up short on multiple opportunities at the offensive end.
Laiblin said, “The ladies laid it all on the line, I couldn’t of asked for anything more out of them, and I am proud of their performance.”
The Wildcats are now 0-7; Cascade earned its first win and is now 1-5-2.
