The Oak Harbor cheer squad placed sixth at the United Spirit Association’s High School Nationals in Anaheim March 27.
The 20-person Wildcat team competed in the intermediate coed varsity division.
Coach Robin Gohn said, “This group of kids is always a pleasure to travel with. Not only are they great athletes, but they represent Oak Harbor High School and the community at large on and off the competition mat. I am so proud of them.”
The squad, with seven seniors, one junior, three sophomores and nine freshmen, is relatively young, and Gohn is looking forward to watching “the team develop into an even stronger program.”
Gohn is assisted Stephanie Striepeck.
The sixth-place team consists of Elizabeth Adkins, Kylene Ayer, Jade Brown, Chylah Bass, Loren Davis, Desiree Dillaman, Adam Goforth, Josh Higbee, Emily Hoyt, Jember Jansen, Joeshua Johnson, Colby Lock, Bri Petersen, Meghan Rikard, Josh Sayre, Briana Sokoloski, Sadie Strain, Courtney Tuttle, TracyAnne Vessels, Omani Welch, Jillian White and Rebecca White.
